Technical Support Forum
You can receive online technical support from our web based forums.  Please go to http://forum.schmolie.com if you would like to use that method for technical support.  If your account comes with support, you can also get support by phone and email using the information in the left-hand column of this page.

  1. From the Start menu, select Accessories --> Communications --> Dial-Up Networking.   A window similar to below should appear.
    open-dial-up-networking.jpg (13836 bytes)

  2. Double-click "Make New Connection."  A window similar to below should appear.  Type a name for the connection that will allow you to identify the connection later.  If you have more than one modem, select the one you want to use from the list.  For most people, they can just leave the default modem selected.   If your modem is not yet installed and configured, please see your modem documentation and come back here when your modem is installed and functioning.  Click "Next."

  3. Put in your dial-up phone number on the next page of the new connection wizard.   For our dial-up accounts, that phone number would be 509-240-3042.  It is a local call for Walla Walla and surrounding local calling areas.  Click "Next."

  4. Click "Finish."

  5. Your new connection should now show in the dial-up networking window.  Right click on the new connection and select "Properties."

  6. On the window that appears, select the tab labeled "Server Types" and make your settings look like the picture below.  When you've done that, click "TCP/IP Settings..."

  7. Your TCP/IP settings should look like the following picture.  When they look like the picture, click "OK" and then click "OK" to get out of the connection properties.

  8. Back at the dial-up networking window, double click your newly created connection.   A small window like the picture below will appear.  Type in you username
    ( your-username@walla2.com ), password
, and check the "Save password" box.  Click "Connect."   This should get you online and you can then use your internet browser and email software.

  9. If you're unable to connect, check the following items:
  • Is your modem plugged into a phone line?  If not, plug it in.
  • Is anyone else talking on that phone line?  If so, tell them to hang up and stay off the phone.
  • Does your modem function with other connections?  If not, consult your modem documentation.
  • Are your "Dial Properties" setup?  If not, set them up.
  • Did you put in your username and password properly?  They are case sensitive.   Watch out for confusing characters like the following: 1 l I i ! 0 O , . ' ` .   If you used one of those characters in your password and are unable to connect, contact technical support to have them change your password for you.  Before support will change your password, they will ask for some identifying information for security purposes.
